A selection of recent projects: Shopify stores that stopped acting like a standard store and became the B2B system, extranet, or management tool their business actually needed.
Examples of how I turn a standard Shopify store into the system a B2B business or complex operation actually needs.
Camaleónica by Capriche sells to a closed group of professional customers through sales agents, but it ran on a standard Shopify store built for direct-to-consumer sales. Every wholesale order was handled by hand: no control over which customer saw which catalog, no way to reserve stock by size while an order was being confirmed, and no connection to the ERP to keep customers, orders, and stock in sync across systems.
Closed B2B access
A store with full access via password and invitation, exclusive to the authorized group of customers.
Pre-orders without checkout
Orders are created as Draft Orders tagged by the assigned sales agent and other customer and product characteristics.
Cart reservation
A custom marketing app that temporarily locks the units added to the cart, so two simultaneous orders can't fight over the same units on low-stock sizes.
ERP connection
Automatic sync of customers, orders, and stock between Shopify and the ERP.
Admin automation
Automatic calculation and application of the equivalence surcharge on draft orders, built into the invoicing flow. Defect claim forms with photo upload directly from the store.
Most returns apps send customers to a portal disconnected from Shopify, while the customer service team handles requests by hand somewhere else. The result: a broken experience for the customer and duplicated work for the store.
Returns without leaving the store
Customers request full or partial returns, upload the required documentation, and track the status, all from a page or their Orders section, without leaving the online store.
Conditions configurable by the store
Deadline, which products can be returned, procedures and return methods, communication, and visual style, all customizable from the app itself.
Managed from the Shopify admin
Returns appear as another section of the Shopify admin, with the same interface and design as the platform's native sections, to validate requests and change the app's settings without leaving the panel.
Carefarma provides a medication delivery service to elderly-care residences, with a multi-level decision chain: the residence, its supervisors, and the residents themselves. A standard Shopify store doesn't distinguish between these roles, doesn't let a supervisor manage orders on behalf of their residents, and doesn't cover in-person sales at each residence either.
Extranet with customer hierarchy
A grouping and association system between residences, supervisors, and residents to manage the catalog, delegated order creation, and follow-up.
Restricted access
Checkout and product visibility only for registered users, with orders generated according to each customer's setup and without going through the standard checkout.
Dedicated panel per user type
Custom sections in the store showing each user's supervisors and residents in charge, plus the orders they manage.
User management app
Sign-up, passwords, and orders for residences, supervisors, and residents, built into the Shopify admin panel.
Shopify POS at each residence
In-person selling with POS terminals, receipt printing, and proprietary and third-party hardware, with stock synced between the residences and the online store.
Farmawao manages a catalog of more than 10,000 products across physical stores and its online store, and also sells on several marketplaces. At that volume, keeping stock and orders in sync by hand across channels stops being viable.
Catalog management tools
Stock sync for a catalog of more than 10,000 products between physical stores and Shopify.
External connections management
Integration with external marketplaces (Miravia and SHEIN APIs) with order updates, customer and order editing and tagging, and connections to third-party marketing APIs like Smile and Connectif.
Online store customization
Usage control for discount codes generated by external apps, conditional gift-with-purchase in the cart, full cart recreation for the cart-recovery app, and exclusive brand portals.
A template theme wasn't enough for what this store needed: custom checkout, customer loyalty, stock synced with physical stores, and returns connected to the ERP and couriers. All of that meant starting from a custom theme and making full use of Shopify Plus's exclusive tools.
Custom theme built from scratch
Custom development of every section of the theme, with tailored features for both the customer and the store's own administration.
Custom returns app
Fully integrated into the store, connected to the ERP and courier services, with a returns manager for Customer Service and integration with physical stores.
Internal management apps
Online stock connected to physical stores, out-of-stock management, marketplace supplier connections, tagging of products, orders and customers, and detailed sales reports.
Marketing apps
Checkout extensions with a countdown banner, payment and shipping method visibility based on customer tags, sessions with no expiry, product recommendations, and a store locator.
Shopify Plus tools
Shopify Scripts, Shopify Flow, Checkout, and Launchpad, built into day-to-day operations.
Divain Parfums sells the same catalog across several countries and languages. Keeping a separate Shopify store per country multiplied the work every time prices, stock, or content needed updating, and raised the risk of stores drifting out of sync with each other.
Single multi-store, internationalized theme
One code repository with a single theme deployed across multiple stores in different languages, updated simultaneously while respecting each store's own configuration. A tag and equivalence system made it possible to manage the large catalog from a single language.
Internal management apps
Stock sync between stores in different countries and fulfillment centers, integration with third-party APIs (Connectif, Trustpilot, GLS), and management of store, customer, order, and product metafields.
Marketing apps
Order editing to include free products after a purchase is completed, and advanced checkout customization.
